Joe Becomes Accredited Professional Member of DSWA
Dry Stone Walling Association Professional Accreditation Scheme
Joe recently became one of the few accredited professional members of the Dry Stone Walling Association (DSWA), the UK’s official governing body of dry stone walling.
On the DSWA professional register there are only 190 accredited and registered professional dry stone wallers in the UK.
Anyone holding these qualifications has proven their specialist ability to build traditional dry stone walls to a high professional standard.
In order to hold these accreditations, a waller must go through a very strict and rigorous testing system. Joe left his walling in The Cotswolds, driving up from Stroud to spend a week at the DSWA National Training Site in Kendal, Cumbria with his work marked and assessed by multiple master craftspeople.
Joe’s work was then certified by Lantra – the leading awarding body in the UK for land-based industries.
